Continentalist nominee Arthur Conroy.

The 1863 Mexican elections took place in August 1863 for the purpose of choosing the Congress of the United States of Mexico.

The 1863 elections were a referendum on incumbent President Arthur Conroy of the Continentalist Party. Conroy had devoted his first term to moderate reforms and internal improvements, including the Harbors Act to widen and dredge the country's ports, and a bill establishing a Railroad Control Commission. Conroy's popularity made his renomination by the Continentalist caucus a foregone conclusion.

Sobel does not mention the opposition Liberty Party's presidential nominee, although it might have been former President Hector Niles. Sobel also does not give the electoral results for the Senate and the Assembly, but does note that the Continentalists were able to win "an impressive victory" in the Senate, which chose Conroy for a second term when it met in September 1863.

Sobel's source for the 1863 Mexican elections is Harper Reichart's The Quiet Messiah: Arthur Conroy of Arizona (Mexico City, 1952).
