The Friends of Burgoyne is a North American organization made up of individuals who trace their descent to soldiers who fought against independence in the North American Rebellion. In 1898, following the war panic that swept the C.N.A. after the Mexican conquest of Alaska, the F.B. called on Governor-General Ezra Gallivan to resign "for the good of the nation."
Sobel's source for the Friends of Burgoyne is Allen Watterson's The Great Fear: Starkism in the C.N.A. (London, 1956).
