Rhode Island was one of the thirteen British colonies that engaged in the North American Rebellion. Its capital is Newport. Under the Britannic Design, it was incorporated into the Northern Confederation of the Confederation of North America.
Thomas Moffat of Rhode Island was one of the colonial leaders consulted by Lord North's ministry as the Britannic Design was developed in 1779-80. General Nathanael Greene of Rhode Island was the principal leader of the Wilderness Walk of 1780-82.
